Project started to digitise production processes
The increasing complexity and diversity of our technologically advanced products leads to a certain rework quota of the faults found by the quality control. Thanks to the use of networked, digitised technology in cooperation with the company 5thIndustry in Berlin, the process from the identification to the elimination of quality defects in our production can be improved efficiently and sustainably in the future. With the help of data analyses by means of the digital application, work steps in the production that cause faults can be identified and eliminated more quickly with significantly less effort, so that the rework processes can be better controlled and reduced. The intelligent IT-based optimisation of the work environment offers a new dimension in the organisation of production and order control, from which our customers and employees benefit.
Weinz WEKA celebrates its 125th anniversary
On January 29, 2021, the company Ernst Fr. Weinz WEKA GmbH & Co. celebrated its 125th anniversary. The general manager of the IHK Koblenz (Arne Rössel, picture left) presented the certificate to the Managing Director Martin Gerlitzky (picture middle) and the operations manager Berthold Fiege (picture right). Founded in 1895 in Idar-Oberstein as a gem grinding shop, the business developed into a company for the manufacture of cutting tools which, since 1945, has specialised in tools with the ultra-hard cutting materials diamond and CBN. In 1980 the Diamant-Gesellschaft Tesch GmbH in Ludwigsburg acquired the medium-sized company, which is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001.
The wide product range of the manufacturing site in Idar-Oberstein includes on the one hand PCD-tipped turning, milling and drilling tools, on the other hand PCBN-tipped tools and also dressing tools equipped with natural diamond or synthetic diamond. The company also offers a regrinding service.
Investments in a modern machinery in recent years and the continuous development of the technical know-how enables Weinz WEKA to deal with innovative manufacturing technologies which also meet high customer requirements with regard to complex tool designs. The course has been set for an optimistic future of the production site in Idar-Oberstein, that is important for the region, in order to be able to meet future challenges with new ideas and tool concepts.
